Cargo Handling Assistant - Dubai (Emirates Group)

Job Outline

* Perform the build up and breakdown of Cargo/ courier/mail and ensure swift and safe movement of cargo, courier and mail loads.
* Inspect, count and validate the goods/parcels at every point of breakdown/build-up, ensuring that goods are correctly received or dispatched in accordance within established service standards.
* Inspect, count and validate the goods/parcels at every point of delivery and acceptance.
* Process all associated documentation (manually/through automated systems) relating to the shipments of courier/mail.
* Ensure that all shipments of restricted articles are properly handled and processed in full compliance with the current edition of the IATA DGR and are loaded accordingly.
* Accept and deliver Cargo, courier and mail from / to the customers, which requires a high degree of attentiveness, speed and with a very high degree of accuracy.
* Monitor and ensure joining loads and arriving loads of Cargo, Courier and Mail are properly handled by the GHAs at various processing stages at the Ramp through co-ordination.
* Operate/Drive certain types of equipment and vehicles used in Warehouse and Ramp.

Salary & Benefits:

We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. It has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1= Dh3.66. Experience and Qualifications:

* 10 Years schooling or equivalent.
* A minimum of 2 years experience in Cargo Handling/ Operations.
* Successful completion of Introduction to Civil Aviation, Basic Cargo and Dangerous Goods Handling courses.
* Good knowledge of Personal Computers and Cargo Handling systems such as: Skylog/SITA Fast IV.
* Good knowledge of cargo build up, break down and/or acceptance/delivery and documentation procedures.
* Good communication skills
* UAE driver's license and/or Dubai Airport Driving Permit
