C++ or Java Unix Developer - UK

A very niche StartArb hedge fund based in London with several years track record and managing in excess of $7bn are seeking exceptional C++ or Java Unix Developer to come on board and to assist in the development of its High Frequency Trading Platform.

You will be involved in all aspects of the development and there is a major opportunity to accelerate your career faster than anywhere else within the city. This are building their systems from scratch and are only using the latest technologies and hiring the strongest candidates on the market.

A real opportunity to get in at the ground up and add value from day one. Within this team you will be working alongside the Quant researchers for providing data and trading integration with their strategies. You will be involved in the design and implementation of infrastructure to enable efficient testing of hypotheses about these inefficiencies over massive data sets. The principals of the firm each have a strong background in finance, software engineering, and mathematics. As a result the firm is well-placed to provide a fruitful environment to the quantitatively-oriented lifelong learners that it seeks to recruit.

This is not a position for those that are purely interested in technology. Candidates must have a strong apatite for the business logic, but must be prepared to stay “hands on”.

You must have excellent relevant technical skills, in the high frequency, Stat Arb, Automated, systematic or Algo Trading space. You must have an excellent academic background and be passionate about the analytical side of development and enjoy problem solving. It is also important you have an excellent understanding of data structures and can demonstrate experience working on the design and implementation of complex systems.
