Job Description:
- Proactively identify opportunities for technology advancement (e.g. at project initiation)
- Design IT and Network System Integration solutions
- Sketch outline designs and use computer-aided design (MS Visio) for detailed design, generating parts lists and specifications
- Coordinate with presales engineers, technical and implementation engineers about the solution required and verify that scope of work meets customer¡¦s requirements, business and IT objectives
- Develop solutions by studying customer requirements
- Consider various factors, including use of the product, its environment, capacity, security, quality, performance requirements, cost and ease of maintenance
- Evaluate options and selecting optimum solution
- Design solutions by completing design analysis and capacity calculations and products configurations
- Prepare Bill of Quantities and Purchase Requests for passive and active equipment
- Ensure conformity and quality of BOQ items upon delivery
- Supervise, plan and participate in the design and implementation
- Provide expert technical leadership and consultation in the design and development of the most complex technology projects
- Create and/or recommend best practices that are adopted across the IT Industry
- Assist Senior Engineers and Project Managers by identifying issues, preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources
- Strong foundation in Networking technologies
- Conceptual and detailed solution design skills
- Strong Operational focus; prior IT operational support experience preferred
- Good understanding of enterprise IT organizations and processes
- Good knowledge in selecting products of Leading Technology providers and OEM vendors such as CISCO, Microsoft, HP, SUN, Juniper, Veritas ¡K
- Capable project management skills
- Understanding of a range of technologies and engineering drawings
- Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues in many other departments
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with diverse nationalities
- Excellent organization skills with detail AND accuracy
- Excellent documentation skills with detail AND accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple small projects
- Strong computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio¡K)
