King Hussein Institute for Biotechnology and Cancer (KHIBC)
This position will provide assistance to Management in IT planning and selecting the appropriate IT infrastructure for the Institute. In addition, the candidate will be in charge of supervising and monitoring all KHIBC Information technology functions and providing support and training within the Institute.
Responsibilities:
•Helps in the design and construction of the Institute’s IT infrastructure in coordination with the Office of Facility Planning.
•Assists in developing a Health Management Information System plan for the hospital and the clinical research infrastructure
•Analyzes technology requirements and develops functional specifications.
•Prepares, maintains and tests a technology disaster recovery plan.
•Develops and maintains IT policies, standards and procedures manual; develops and maintains related technology checklists.
•Provides technical supervision of technology interns; supervises other staff as directed; annually updates technology job descriptions; completes IT staff evaluations.
•Develops and manages IT budget and monitors and approves related expenditures.
•Manages the acquisition, installation and maintenance of the Institute’s local area network hardware/software.
•Supervises and manages all network operations
•Ensures IT documents/certificates are evaluated, updated and processed.
• Manages the maintenance of Microsoft Windows applications and systems
• Conducts comparative analysis and competitive bidding when necessary.
• Manages IT inventory to include procurement and disposal
•Ensures for the availability, continuity and security of data and information pertaining to the Institute.
•Schedules and supervises routine preventive maintenance of hardware, software and networks; creates and supervises the appropriate logs.
•Supervises the maintenance & continuous improvement of web-based applications including websites and intranets.
•Conducts IT orientation; assists staff in understanding and using technology.
Skills
Microsoft certification, MCSE Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer is a plus.
Excellent understanding of computer software and hardware.
Excellent understanding of computer networks.
Education
Master's Degree in Computer Science
