Finance Manager - Dubai

A multinational commodities and natural resources organisation setting up operations in Dubai is looking for a Finance Manager.

As finance manager the role will involve managing the accounts and risk and reporting functions of the operation in Dubai. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain proactive, positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Guest Relations Consultant - Dubai

A leading hotel resort in Dubai, a part of the Emirates group is looking to emply a suitable person for the above post.

The Position:

Provide personalised services and co-ordination of all aspects of the guest's stay at the Hotel/Resort, through communication with other departments, and to act as the primary link between the guests and the operations when attending to visitors and guests services and enquiries. Assist guests with all aspects of services available and required in the hotel/resort including the Business Centre. This position is meant to cover both Guest Relations and the Business Centre.

Job Outline

  • Ensure that guests at all times receive the services, access to facilities and individual requirements requested by them, while maintaining the policies, procedures and systems of the Hotel/Resort.
  • To arrange and co-ordinate the activities, tours /transfers and special requests of guests and visitors to the hotel/resort, ensuring that they have the maximum comfort and convenience for the duration of their visit.
  • To be responsible for the handling of enquires and timely production of their allocated guest's financial records, and to ensure the smooth operation of guest's billing procedures.
  • To pass on all the relevant information (including complaints) to the other departments in the operation. To ensure that guests receives services in well co-ordinated and timely manner, This includes additional information which may be relevant to developing and upgrading service, guest history records, Management and Sales and Marketing.
  • To represent the image of the hotel/resort's services, its ideals, and its policies by maintaining a groomed and professional appearance in dealing with all visitors: and at all times promote a friendly, informal, and polite relationship between guest and staff.
  • To assist, when needed, with guest check-in, reception and check-out procedures and also on billing enquires from the units business centre.
  • To assist and personally ensure that the accommodation, services and facilities used by guest are at the required hotel standards.
  • To actively inquire and recommend the services, activities and facilities of the resort to guests and visitors, ensuring that they are kept informed of all the full range of options available to them.
  • To be familiar with all hotel/resort facilities and available services. This is to include all relevant outside services, attractions and nearby sport and recreational facilities in order to advise guests on any queries that may arise.
  • The job holder is expected, as part of their guest service duties to assist other departments in their service delivery. This is part of the personalised services offered and provides continuity for the guest as they move between individual department services.

Salary & Benefits:

We offer an attractive tax-free salary, paid in Dirhams, the local currency of the UAE. The Dirham is linked to the Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. It has been held constant against the US dollar since the end of 1980 at a mid-rate of approximately US$1= Dh3.66. Experience and Qualifications:

  • 'A' level education with training in Public Relations with a minimum of 2 years experience in a 5-star hotel in which contact with customers has been a major part of the job.
  • Experience of the procedures, standards and operation of Business Administration, Public Relations, Front Office, Reception. Service provision would be of benefit. Front-Office procedures from a similar establishment, or a recognised institution. Training in front-line staff activities, including IT and administrative functions, customer service and multicultural understanding.

Candidates should have one or more of the following abilities/experiences/traits:

1) English plus one/more languages; Fluency in Arabic, German, French, Russian, Italian, or a Nordic Language.
2) A recognised Nursing or Advanced First Aid Diploma.
3) Special Interest / Experience in Natural History, Geography, Public Speaking, or other specific Current Affairs interest.
4) Personal grooming, modelling, fashion, arts.

Intermediates Quantity Surveyor - Dubai

They are seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team based from their offices in Dubai and working on projects in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Middle East.


Who They are Looking for?

The Quantity Surveyor / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will be able to demonstrate a sound background with a large scale developers or contractors. You will have a minimum of a BSc degree in Quantity Surveying or in an associated subject with a minimum of 5 years experience with a developer or Contractor.

You will ideally have worked in the Middle East before, but this is not essential.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience of working on apartment blocks, mixed use and multi storey projects.

You may have experience of High Rise projects with 7 -15 or more floors, or large commercial developments.

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation, leadership and the ability to multi task.


The Role of the Quantity Surveyor / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

You will be working with your team on a range of large scale developments with emphasis on value engineering and claims avoidance. The successful candidate must have prior experience of the entire project cycle.

You will be using your quantity surveying skills to effectively manage the commercial aspects of these large and awe inspiring projects.
